A Master Plan for Victoria Park

On November 10, the London Borough of Barnet issued an invitation for a consultant to develop a master plan for the future of Victoria Park on Ballards Lane. The full invitation can be found here.

The consultant is to begin the work on 10 January 2018, with the final report to Barnet due to be submitted on July 6. This will be followed by a public meeting to discuss the proposals.

The master plan should a vision of the future provision in the park, which includes, but is not restricted to:

  • Play provision for all ages
  • Refurbishment of tennis courts including rebuilding and resurfacing of 4 porous macadam courts (x2 were refurbished recently)
  • Outdoor Gym provision
  • Improved entrances and park frontages
  • Improved signage
  • Planting schemes
  • Park cafe

The consultant is encouraged to identify additional facilities and features for inclusion in the masterplan and to prioritise the proposed improvements, based on suggestions from local stakeholders.

The Friends of Victoria Park group have also produced a “wish list” of improvements that they would like to see at the park. This can be accessed on the Friends website
